We met this guy at a hotel. His job, as far as we could tell, was to carry bags and take care of the grounds. I don't think I've ever seen anyone as tall as he is. At about 7 feet, he towered over everyone else. But he was as friendly as he was tall. The hotel was built in 1250, and was a caravan stop along the silk road (I think). Back in the 1200's they didn't really care about making door frames the proper height (Or people were just a lot smaller). Our friend had to duck way down to make it through the doors.
