Someone asked, “As you think about moving to a completely new & different place, what are some of the worries (irrational ones would be more interesting :)) that pop into your thoughts and leave you with the funny feeling in the abdomen somewhere?”

Here are some things that came to our mind (Some are more rational than others:)

We are worried …

…how we will handle new foods (never drank yogurt before =).

… about being stuck in the house, not able to go anywhere with the kids (Becky).

…Mike won’t fit in with his co-workers (Becky).

… we’ll get there and we won’t have something that we could only get in the states, but didn’t think to bring (Becky).

…we will offend someone by saying the wrong thing.

…about not knowing how to budget for living in foreign country.

…about what will happen when we have different levels of concern about various trials that come up. It will be much more intense because it is just us.

…about falling into the toilet.

...the kids won’t remember who their relatives are.

…we’ll have more kids too quickly.

…we’re not doing the right thing.

…people won’t understand if we go over there and nothing happens.

…our family won’t grow spiritually (Mike).

Isn't it great we can "Cast our anxiety on Him because He cares for us."

I was worried about that toilet thing too! Imagine someone with little balance.

As far as grandparents, don't be surprized if you open one of your crates and there lie in two crunched grandparents :)

Thank God for e-mail, and video
always remember it doesn't matter where you go as long as you call home to say you are ok.

and at least no beans!

I'm excited about your new adventure with God! I know that He will give you more than enough grace to handle whatever new and strange situations you encounter, with a good attitude and joyful heart.

Drinkable yogurt is the best! I have a hard time switching to the eatable kind now...

And as for "squatty potties" - Mike should already be experienced - it's just like backpacking, only you can flush afterwards! ;-)

And remember, no matter what, your time is in God's capable hands, to be used for His eternal purpose and glory, even when His purposes aren't clearly apparent or measurable by the world's standards. Keep firmly focused on Him, use your overwhelmedness (not really a word, but you know what I mean) to run to His comforting arms and grow further in your relationship with Him. Pray and prepare for the rain...
